THE BIOGRAPHY
MILITARY SERVICE
Tyler has proudly served 21 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, with assignments in Iraq, Afghanistan, Italy, and Japan. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Defense Information School. His military service has taught him that true leadership means taking responsibility and being accountable to both the people and the mission.
STORYTELLING & COMMUNITY
Tyler is the author of Double Trouble and the Upside Down Christmas Tree, a children's book he jokingly calls 'Indiana's #2 Christmas story.' He wrote it about the time his parents hung his Christmas tree upside down to keep his little twin brothers out of it, and he enjoys reading it to children in schools across Indiana.
LOCAL LEADERSHIP
Tyler spent three years on his neighborhood board, learning to listen to residents and solve problems collectively. He continues to help neighbors navigate city government to find solutions, but his local service also has a fun side; he loves dressing up in patriotic costumes for local events to bring smiles to local students. Whether he is advocating for better policies or engaging with families, Tyler remains a dedicated, hands-on leader for the whole community.
